    1. Hi I m Jen Calonita, a MG and YA author who loves what I do because it lets me connect with all of you and no, I wasn t intending for that to rhyme.I ve been writing ever since I can remember, but it was fourth grade when I put my three wishes for a genie down on paper They were 1 Buy all the Cabbage Patch Kids in the world and give them away for free because apparently that was how I rolled 2 I wanted a mansion, limo, lake house, pool and speed boat still sounds quite nice 3 I wanted to be an author for young readers, which I am I love writing novels for teens and for savvy grown ups who know that YA rocks at any age My first series was Secrets of My Hollywood Life and it followed a teen star named Kaitlin Burke who struggled with the fame game I have also written the stand alone novels Sleepaway Girls, it s companion book, Summer State of Mind and the Belles series.I ve been writing middle grade too and am having so much fun with my series Fairy Tale Reform School The fourth book in this series about a school run by former villains is called Tricked and will be out March 2018 Ever wonder what it would be like if your parents got a job with someone like Taylpr Swift My other middle grade series, VIP, follows super fan Mackenzie Lowell as she tours with her favorite band, Perfect Storm I promise to give book updates here, and on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or my website I hope I hear from you xoJen

    2. PARTIAL SPOILERVery disappointing. Its such a shame because I remember loving these books in middle school and devouring each one. Last month I checked to see if the series had any new installments just out of curiosity, and since this was the concluding book I decided to finish out the series I had enjoyed so much. Maybe my reading taste has matured since I first picked up these books, or I'm just too old for them now but I started to realize very quickly how poorly it is written. I feel like t [...]

    3. So, I have finally read the conclusion of the Secrets Of My hollywood Life series. I'd give this novel a 3.5 if that were possible, but I rounded up to 4.0 even, since we can't use halves. I would recommend this to the readers of the rest of the series, seeing that it provides closureMMERY (NO SPOILERS)So, Kaitlyn Burke is back in her final debut. She's got the life she's always dreamed of, producers knocking down her door, the best boyfriend in the world, and she's a Paparazzi Princess once aga [...]

    4. One of the first rules of writing is to write about what you know. The author has worked as a Hollywood journalist for years, interviewing the hottest teen idols in the business. What was so enjoyable about the series (okay, I only read #5 and #6) is that Calonita creates likeable protagonists, likeable antagonists, and likeable support characters. It is also a clean read, worthy of Disney Channel's ratings. Rather than giving a lot of fluff I can pick up in any gossip magazine, Calonita gives t [...]

    5. really disappointed in this one it was pretty much kaitlin and her mom arguing, too much going on in her life, then she has this super clear vivid dream of what her life would be like if she wasn't famous? i had to skip that part, which was most of the book, because it was so boring. i loved all the other books in this series, but this one was just mehh.

    6. I feel like the series could have continued after this book (there was plenty of potential with Kaitlin just starting college - would have been interesting to see how she managed to balance that with her Hollywood career), but I guess it's always best to be left wanting more!

    7. I thought this book would be generic and cliche, but surprisingly it wasn't that bad. It started off a little silly but quickly got better.

    8. This was the last one in the series, and I was SO DISAPPOINTED! It started well, and there was some fun things in it (although the book did seem to skip through time very quickly). And then (view spoiler)[ I HATED that they did the dream / alt-reality thing. I was confused for a couple of pages, and then when I realized what was happening, I was mad. I just skipped it all and went until the "dream" was over. (hide spoiler)] UGH!The resolution was good, and ended at a way that I thought was good [...]

    9. Kaitlin's Story EndsHonestly? This was the worst book in the series. Minor spoilers ahead. Maybe it's just my opinion, but I really hated the alternate reality. The only bright spot during all of that was Meg being a real Mom as opposed to a momager. Oh, and maybe Laney, since she could see the talent. I'm kind of sad that it ended with a book that I could barely finish. It got three stars solely because the start was pretty good and the ending was sweet. I'm going to miss everybody, except Meg [...]

    10. After Jen finally got this book out of the way, I would be happy if there there twenty books in the series. They are really easy and light to read, this one is definitely the worst in the series, yep even worst then the fourth one. I literally skipped the whole worthless dream sequence and I don't skip parts of books I've never read.

    11. Uhhhhh I was so nervous to read this because of (yet again) what Jeanine told me but then I finally read it and it wasn't as scary as Broadway Lights! I was so scared in Broadway Lights because Kaitlin and Austin's relationship was shaky and all but that wasn't the case here in the sixth book!(Before anything else, let us fangirl over THIS twitter/JenCalonita/statu)So there. Anyway. Uhhh, even from the early books I wanted Kaitlin to fire Meg. haha Meg got into my nerves a lot, because she kept [...]

    12. The final installment of Secrets of My Hollywood Life, one of my favorite light, chick lit series. I'm sad to see the books come to an end, although I'm excited to see what Jen Calonita has in store for us next. That being said, There's No Place Like Home was not my favorite book in the series. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't what I wanted out of the final book either. The book starts out like all the others. Kaitlin has tons of things on her plate. Her pushy mom only makes things worse, encour [...]

    13. There's No Place Like Home is a clever written book. The last in the Secrets of My Hollywood Life series is a thrilling conclusion. It's sad to see this series end forever and ever. I hate to say farewell to this series, but it's always meant to be. (The first book of this series is Secrets of My Hollywood Life, if you are interested in reading this series. This series doesn't have numbering on covers.) The series is recommended to anyone ten years old and up.The plot is cleverly woven. All the [...]

    14. I have had such a good time reading about Kaitlin and her adventures in Hollywood and on Broadway in this series. She has been through a lot - starring on an extremely popular TV series, dealing with the egos of other actresses, learning how to stay out of trouble off-stage, having her series canceled, keeping a long distance relationship with her boyfriend – A LOT.In this final book of the series, things are going great for Kaitlin. Her new Hollywood show is a hit, she is friends with Sky (he [...]

    15. (Spoiler Alert: Do not read unless you’ve read the previous 5 books in the Secrets Of My Hollywood Life series.)Secrets Of My Hollywood Life: There’s No Place Like Home by Jen Calonita picks up shortly after Broadway Lights left off. Kaitlin and the rest of the Burkes are back in Hollywood with busy schedules. Matt’s filming for his show and Kaitlin’s busy filming her new show, Small Fries. But with two kids active in the Hollywood scene, mom-ager Meg Burke has her already full hands eve [...]

    16. "There's No Place Like Home" is about Kaitlyn Burke, a teen that's famous for acting and starring on Broadway, and how her life would be like if she wasn't famous. After Kaitlyn and her boyfriend Austin drive off in an SUV on a paparazzi chase, the driver goes into the wrong lane and a huge accident has happened. After the accident, Kaitlyn goes into a dream where she was never famous and none of her old friends know who she is. Kaitlyn has to figure out how to tell people that she really is fam [...]

    17. Reviewed by Jennifer Rummel for TeensReadTooKaitlin's just starting over in Hollywood with a new TV show - Small Fries. It has the potential to become HUGE. With Sky as her co-star again, things are looking better than ever. Then her mom starts overbooking her schedule. With Broadway under her belt and another hit TV series, Kaitlin has her pick of movies during the show production's hiatus. She has the choice between working with Spielberg or Eastwood. Her mom wants her to choose both, and she w [...]

    18. I got my copy today after it shipped early from B&N. I have to say, I really enjoyed this series for some reason unknown to me. Maybe it was how real Burke's world felt or some other reason. But this book didn't really hit it home for me. I enjoyed the beginning and the end. But the middle was just weird.Kaitlin and Austin get into a car accident and then she wakes up only to find she's living a normal life and isn't a famous actress doing a James Cameron movie. Oh my gosh? How will Kaitlin [...]

    19. There's No Place Like Home by Jen Calonita was a great book!! The book put everything the right way to end this series. Which sucks because it was my favorite series. This book was full of events that surprised me and made me curious. It couldn't have been better, besides in some parts it was a little confusing at the moment. This book is about Hollywood star Kaitlin Burke. After finishing her Broadway show in New York, Kaitlin is back in LA. She is starting a new show with her old nemesis but n [...]

    20. NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The series is OVER!!!!!!!! *Cries* Just a few years ago I started actually finishing series and it is always really sad.I love 'The Secrets of My Hollywood Life' series (even though they had a tedency to be repetitive.) It's really fun and light, this one was probably my favorite next to the first one. I loved it that Katilin stopped being such a push over and so indecicive. It was nice to see her grow and change. The writing was good not fantastic [...]

    21. This book was fantastic. Kaitlin unsure of what to do: continue on with her rising career or take time off to go to collage. Her mother who is over loading her with jobs and movie insists Katy to do two movies during hiatus. On her 18th birthday which is the day Kaitlin takes her driving test, she wakes up to find her mom arguing with her assistant Nadine and her team. She finds out that her mother called paparazzi to come watch her driving test, which made Kaitlin and everyone else really mad. [...]

    22. I was kind of disappointed in this book. The whole series was great--I really enjoyed Kaitlin's life, but this entire book was a disappointment to the rest of the series to me. I really liked the whole plot before she went into the alternate universe. It was really boring, and constantly I would check to see how many pages were left of it. I feel like it shouldn't have taken as long as it did. Maybe it should have been a chapter, but not a good chunk of the book. I would have enjoyed it more if [...]

    23. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! There's No Place Like Home, the last book of the series, is a book about life evaluation in Hollywood. Kaitlin Burke, a star with everything she could ever want, feels like her life is to much. Her mother only cares about work, the paparazzi are rude and impossible, and she's overbooked with having to star in two films and a TV show. When she gets in a car crash she wakes up in a different place or dimension. She's actually not a movie star, she doesn't have a boyfriend, her [...]

    24. It took me awhile to finish this book because I've been so busy. The only reason why I didn't give this book 5 stars it's because a 1/3 of the book it's sort of boring and it trails off and it goes on and on and on how Kates mom overwhelms her and etc, old news!! However, half way of the book her car accident, and her dream is what caught my attention. Kept the book spontaneous and secretive and made me anxious to keep reading. I finished the book in two days(while working and going to schoollol [...]

    25. Burke is still transitioning and adjusting to the change of being on a new TV show and having to manage her crazy life. This book was good at addressing all the issues that Burke has been ignoring all this time. Mainly her momager taking over and controlling her life to point that she has yet another nervous breakdown. I thought this book was good but the wished there was more time spent on her actually life as opposed to the trip that she takes in the middle Even if it was fun for a while to s [...]

    26. I've read all 6 books in the Secrets of My Hollywood Life YA series. And I've enjoyed them. The series focuses on Kaitlin Burke and her life as a teenage tv star in Hollywood.I really have enjoyed getting to know Kaitlin, her brother Matty, her boyfriend Austin, her best friend Liz, her sometimes frenemy and co-star Sky and her manager mom (who constantly overbooks her for work). There's No Place Like Home took a bit of a different turn than the other books. It had the present, then from pages 150 [...]

    27. I thought that it was a good finale for this series. I was sad to see it end though. After she was in the car accident, I was really confused about where she was and why no one could remember that she played Sam on Family Affair. Then when I read on, it became clearer. It still was a little confusing. I happy with the fact that Nadine became her manager and that she and Sky were getting along. I really liked the ending since she is able to go to college and still act in Small Fries. I also like [...]

    28. So this is the last book in the Secrets series & I loved it. I have been reading this series from the moment it came out. I think the series is a lot of fun, but also a good message. The series was about Kaitlin growing and learning about herself. It was a coming of age series. This book did not disappoint because there were celebrity antics, crazy events, and of course Austin. I thought the series ended well with this book because Kaitlin figured out what she wanted in her life & finall [...]

    29. I loved the beginning of the series, but I think it just got annoying after a while. I like how the series wrapped up, and this 3 stars is a lot higher than the 3 stars I gave the last couple, if that makes any sense. I guess it's because the things that I've been so annoyed about and couldn't stand about the characters finally got resolved and "all is well," but that doesn't make up for the fact that it took THIS long, and yet was so easy, having the ending be so incredibly 'perfect'. I didn't [...]

    30. I started this series a really really long time ago by now. It took me forever to finish because the library only had the first book. I think the serise as a whole was really quite cute. In some ways, I'm a bit sad that I finished it because I did enjoy the books. I thought Kaitlin was sweet and very real seeing as she had so many different emotions. Plus, I also enjoyed all the inside of Hollywood jazz that was going on. As for this actual book, it wasn't my favorite during the section when she [...]

    31. Although it's not as good as some of the other books in the series (the 5th one is my favorite!) it wraps the series up nicely. Kaitlin is on her own tv show with Skye, called Small Fries, but her mom is controlling everything and overbooking her (she wants her to do two movies during the hiatus!). She also has to decide if she wants to go to college (USC) or not. On her 18th birthday she gets into a car crash and enters a Wizard of Oz like dream where she's in a different "dimension" with an al [...]
