    1. Siôn O'Tierney Is a well-known author, some of his books are a fascination for readers like in the After the Ride book, this is one of the most wanted Siôn O'Tierney author readers around the world.

    2. Evocative whispers from a cowboy. This is more suspense than romance, but that said, the telling of it is quite lovely. The terseness and brevity characterized Chidike and set the tone so successfully that while I wanted more details and answers I was spellbound by how well it represented him. This is a beautiful, tantalizing vignette that begs for more. Favorite quote:Every part of my body is numb, but the pressure of his lips on my own― I feel the chapped skin crack under the force of the kis [...]

    3. This is such a different kind of story, told partly in retrospective and partly in present tense, it's a mini adventure. And whilst it's short, the characterisation is really deep. The romance aspect is real and wonderful.Loved it. Going to read more Siôn O'Tierney for sure.

    4. This story is a hard sell in so short a story. The narration also jumps around a lot within the first person pov (not my favorite pov either). I was interested and it was a unique tact at telling a story, but it didn't allow me to really connect with what was going on. Chidike "Truck" McCord is an up and coming saddle bronc rider. He's got eight seconds to go and he's in the money this time around. After managing his ride he gets a little smacked around on the dismount resulting in a likely conc [...]

    5. This was a tease that works really well. It's short, and their brief introduction was sweet. The writing style worked well with the MCs thoughts and physical state and I enjoyed the glimpse into the rodeo lifestyle. I would love to read more of these two characters.

    6. A short cowboy story for the LL picture prompt event.A rodeo, a kidnapping, a few idiot kidnappers, and i think a relationship. Not too sure about that, it was so short and almost no together on page time between the two MCs.

    7. Really good short story by a interesting author. Loved the writing and the almost poetic flow of the short story

    8. A cowboy's life is tough, but when Truck wakes up imprisoned and tied up only to find out he has been kidnapped right after wining at a rodeo, he realizes it can get tougher. He figures out who the kidnappers are pretty quickly and keeps fighting to free himself, but the increasing exhaustion and the residual pain from his concussion after the ride make that pretty much impossible. Luckily his best friend, Paul, is not one to give up easilyIf you like short, slightly rough stories about tough me [...]

    9. This was more a long scene than a short story and there's no romance at all. Wasn't my cuppa.

    10. Contemporary short story of a young rough stock rider who after a bad fall, and with probably concussion is kidnapped and left, bound, in the back of a horse trailer. As the story unfolds it jumps around in his memories of childhood and early days riding, as well as describing him coming to a conclusion that his friend is potentially more than just a friend. For me the somewhat rambling style of the writing made it hard to connect with the characters and the story, but in a way that works with t [...]

    11. Offered for FREE from the M/M Romance Group's Love's Landscapes event. Thank you too all the amazing authors who participated!

    12. More of a 2.5Unfortunately, there are some things you cannot do in just a few thousand words. Kidnapping is one of them. In order for me to actually care about something such as a kidnapping, I need to care about the characters. In this case, we barely knew them. So unfortunately, it was a miss for me.Otherwise, the writing was pretty solid.

    13. I like the encounter of Paul and Chidike at the end. I think I get the last line and how it refers to the kidnapping, but it seems like it points to something else which I didn't get. So I enjoyed the story but am a little puzzled at the end.

    14. My Rating System:* couldn't finish, ** wouldn't recommend, *** would recommend, **** would read again, ***** have read again.

    15. This is a short story, about a rodeo rider that is kidnapped and tied up. The whole time he is held captive he wonders about his friend, Paul. Will he come save him? I was wondering how this story would come about, but I think the author pulled it off well.

    16. I think it was written present tense im guessing i could be wrong i read few books like this. I like it, but i would have loved to read more of the MCs. But still good enough. Chidike gets kidnapped and paul wil come to rescue.

    17. I wish I liked it more, but I didn't feel this story. Maybe if it had been longer and there had been more character development I might have liked it better. The writing is great, the story is lacking.

    18. I had not expected what I got. Don't get me wrong, I like cowboys. But considering the prompt I had hoped for something more exciting than an (view spoiler)[ kidnapping (hide spoiler)]

    19. STORY INFO:Genre: contemporaryTags: rodeo, cowboys, kidnapping, friends to lovers, sweet/no sex, subtletyWord Count: 5,999

    20. Interesting vignette, you see the hints of the romance but mostly just the scene from the prompt. I would like to have seen more of the aftermath.

    21. [NOTE: I rate most writing event stories (free reads) 4 or 5 stars because of my appreciation of the author's participation and gift.]
