    1. J.P Bowie was born and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland He wrote his first unpublished novel a science fiction tale of brawny men and brawnier women that made him a little suspect in the eyes of his family for a while.Leaving home at age eighteen for the bright lights of London, he found himself in the midst of a diverse and creative crowd that eventually led him to the performing arts For the next twelve years he sang, danced and acted his way around the theatres of London and the provinces, appearing in shows with many famous British singers, actors and comedians. After immigrating to the US and living for many years in Las Vegas where he worked for that incomparable duo, Siegfried and Roy, J.P found himself entranced by the fair city of San Diego where he currently lives with his partner, Phil.J.P loves to hear from his readers and can be contacted at jpbowie cox

    2. Love this but the ending made me go WTF until I realized there was another book. Good thing or I would have had to kick some author butt. :P

    3. In 73 B.C. Capua is a flourishing township of the Roman Republic and her Senate. There are more slaves than citizens and free men in this modern, civilized land. The good people are not taking careful note of the unrest that surrounds them.Though he bears his father little love Lucius Tullius goes through the motions of concern for his mother and sisters sake as his sire lays dying. To avoid the turmoil in the household Lucius visits the market with a good friend and stops short at the slave pen [...]

Lucius is a sweet young man who falls hard at first sight for the muscled gladiator Callistus, but when he goes back the next day to try to free him, its too late, Callistus has been moved to one of the gladiator training facilities. Having seen the entire Spartacus series, (and am a huge fan of it!) the world building here felt familiar and well done, though there were [...]

    5. Lucius and Callistus don't actually spend much time together in this series opener but every word they share is powerful and memorable. A great story of what we do to find the ones we love even when it isn't that smart.
