    1. LISA KLEYPAS is the RITA award winning author of 21 novels Her books are published in fourteen languages and are bestsellers all over the world She lives in Washington State with her husband and two children.

    3. Book gods : "Stacia, you've had a rough reading week. It's time that we allow you a moment of rest. Go forth and enjoy this familiar author as you relax in our favor for this brief moment."Me : "Thank you, sirs and madams. I will try not to squander your gift."3.5 stars. I had to deduct half a point for an ending that should have been cut off about 30 pages sooner.I'm officially refreshed now. Kleypas never fails to entertain me. The formula still stands as successful as ever. There are no witty [...]

    4. Recently I asked a few friends to help me out with some recommendations for something light with some sexy times in it and if possible a good audiobook version to go along with the ebook. Let’s just say they did not fail me. I got some great recommends and this was one of them. This is my first Lisa Kleypas novel and I enjoyed it so much I’m sure it won’t be my last. The build of sexual tension was so good and even the storyline was really enjoyable. Mr. Bronson is new to the aristocracy, [...]

    5. This was one of the great hidden gems that take you by surprise and wish it never end! I adored Zachary (a lot- one of my fave LK men now) one of those men who strive to make themselves better in a time where the lower class weren’t given half a chance. Zach shows he’s not only is he handsome, strong and caring but can be a wicked scoundrel. Holly after three years was coming out of her grief shell after the death of her beloved husband into society again and when she’s kissed in the shado [...]

    6. 4 STARSI will read anything Lisa Kleypas writes. Anything. This was a great story, filled with the angst of loss and despair, hope and enduring love. Holly Taylor couldn't imagine loving again, let alone loving more than she did her late husband. At first I was irritated with Holly and her self sacrifice to uphold propriety, but as the story progressed I realized what she was doing. I can't even imagine living in a time where you're told how to feel, act, grieve and love. But Zachary Bronson was [...]

    7. I have to say, it was very hard for me to rate this book. There were parts I loved, making me want to give it a 4, and parts that I hated, making me want to give it a 3 or less. Ultimately, I had to go with my instincts and go with the 3. Let me tell you whyWhat I Loved:In general, I loved this book. Absolutely loved it. I loved the concept and, for the most part, the way that Lisa Kleypas built the story. I loved the characters, with the exception of one, and I really did want to see them happy [...]

    8. I really enjoyed this one. Love to get back to Historicals every so often. Zachary, the hero, from the wrong side of the tracks, who wants to fit in with the upper classes. Lady Holland, from the upper classes who once had the love of her life and knows she will never know that again.“I'll follow you to the next life if I have to," he whispered harshly in her ear. "You'll never be free of me. I'll chase you through heaven and hell and beyond." He continued to whisper without stopping while his [...]

    9. Reviewed for THC Reviews"4.5 stars" Lately, I've allowed myself to become distracted from some of my favorite authors, so it has been quite a while since I've read a Lisa Kleypas novel. Where Dreams Begin has been on my TBR pile for nearly two years, and I believe that was due in part to it rarely being mentioned as a fan favorite which led me to believe that it probably wasn't one of her stronger efforts. Now that I've finally read it, I'm kicking myself for not picking it up sooner. In my opin [...]

    10. 5 stars.I created a new shelf for this called "gorgeous" because it quite simply was from start to finish. Lisa Kleypas is extremely dominant on my favourites shelf because she is obviously one of the most magical romance authors of all time. I can't tell you how much the opening chapter of this book captured my attention but my heart was with both Lady Holly and Zachary from that point forward. Can I just say how refreshing it was to not have any crazy drama or suspense plot in Where Dreams Begi [...]

    11. ★★★★★ This is a review of the audiobook. The 2000 paperback publication has long been one of my favorite Lisa Kleypas books and I can see the hero, Zachary Bronson, as the archetype for so many other Kleypas heroes to come: a rough, self-made man with endless determination to get what he wants, and he wants Lady Holland Taylor. (Talk about a man in pursuit!) Only here he is set in an era where dukes ruled the day and he is, alas, without anything approaching a title. But that is not det [...]

    13. 5+ stars – Historical RomanceThis is a beautiful, poignant romance, and Zachary Bronson's longing for a life of love and acceptance with Lady Holly is achingly sad and touching. It's a real treasure and another Lisa Kleypas 5 star favorite/keeper!

    14. You’d be hard pressed to find any romance with a fresh/new storyline, and yet Kleypas has had a much higher success rate than many of her contemporaries at breathing new life into otherwise worn out plots. This was another success. And despite the fact that the last 40 or 50 pages of this book were entirely unnecessary (and a bit of a buzz kill from an otherwise fantastic story) I’m still giving this four stars because the first 90% of the book was a joy to read. Romance clichés skillfully [...]

    15. One of my favorite books for 2010 and straight into my keepers shelf. Review to come after Christmas!Well, it's after Christmas now but I guess I'm too tired from the festivities to write a complete review so I'll keep it short:Zachary Bronson has become a rich man and has gained all his heart's desires except one thing: admittance in the ton because of his lowly origins. In a ball he meets the beautiful widow Lady Holland and decides he wants her as his tutor in order to polish his manners, and [...]

    19. Beautiful story! I had my doubts and the very end was a little draggy, but this is one of the best love stories written by Lisa Kleypas or ever written, actually. I absolutely adored it.After 3 years of mourning, Lady Holland has finally returned to society. Her marriage had been perfect and her in-laws are willing to support her and her daughter, but she still can't seem move on after her husband's death. Shockingly, when she meets Zachary Bronson, an arriviste and a commoner climbing the socia [...]

    20. Rate: 5 stars hands down (Full review + fave quotes)It's been too long since I last read a Lisa Kleypas book and my memory doesn't seem to do justice to her fabulousness. I even began to think Surely I have discovered so many new and brilliant authors that I somehow won't enjoy my old favourite author anymore BUT THE WOMAN JUST HAS SOMETHING THAT NO OTHER AUTHOR DOES. No one can reel off historical romances like Kleypas can without somewhere getting one wrong or accidentally creating a character [...]

    21. 4.5/5 stars. I found this Lisa Kleypas book to be deeply moving and very emotional. It made me cry because the character's feelings were very believable as they struggled with their feelings for one another. The premise of the book was an interesting one to me. A widow was hired by a family with new-money to educate them in the ways of English society. One of my favorite things about this book was a little girl named Rose, the daughter of the widow. Her innocence in reacting to the situations put [...]

    22. 4+ stars. I wish I'd read this book earlier in my reading life. I would have given it five stars. Lisa Kleypas did a marvelous job of researching the setting of this novel, it should be a reference material for new writers of historical romance. It's as if she went back in time and experienced the world in which Holly and Zachary were living. That's how authentic it read when they were describing the society and class differences. One of the things I love about LK is that she doesn't write only [...]

    24. Note to self (view spoiler)[h pines after dead husband most of bookH sleeps with others while wanting h (hide spoiler)]

    25. Where Dreams Begin may not be my favorite Kleypas novel, but it is one of the best romance novels I have ever read. If you’re looking to sample the historical romance genre, this is the book I’d suggest you begin with. Not only does it steer clear of the irritating alpha-male stereotype that allows heroes to rape their wives and come across as romantic while doing it (you won't believe how common this is!), it also features strikingly unique characters in this clichéd genre and tacks on qui [...]

PRECIOSO.

    27. 28. Soooo. This was not fun, especially the last 10-20%. When I was starting this book I said you can't go wrong with Lisa Kleypas and I still stand by these words, because the woman can write. But Where Dreams Beginjust didn't work for me. I wasn't bored, far from it, but I didn't enjoy the story or the characters either. Holly was overly portrayed as so innocent, fragile, too virginal for a woman once married, whereas Zachary was soo wicked, masculine, aggressive. They're basically every male and [...]

    29. Promiscuous heroes. Really don't have much respect for people who don't have self-control. And no, saying that "a man like him" would have such urges does not make it realistic, okay or better. There is no "man like him". There are only men who have self-control and others who have too little self-control. And in that day and age, think about all the STDs he would have picked up along the way. Contraceptive isn't full proof in this day and age, I highly doubt it was back then.
